"After spending approximately 17 years of my life (and a good portion of my savings) 

studying how to get a pitcher to throw harder athletically with less stress on their arm,

I found out that there is nothing out there to train the legs on how to drive. 

While coaching, one thing I had a hard time doing was getting the pitcher to use their legs

more powerfully and actually getting them to drive with their back leg.......until now.

 

There is no training device that will give your pitcher the feedback that they need to

develop leg drive like "King of the Hill". The best thing is, it is adjustable and will allow

you to develop the leg drive at any age at your own pace.  The device will also keep you

from throwing across the body and helps with flying open.

 

In a "Athletic Pitching Motion" the pitcher ultimately utilizes every ounce of energy he or she can produce while under control and balanced to throw the ball.  Energy is being produced and being transferred in a efficient connected delivery. If we don't utilize 100% of power that is obtainable in our lower half (Leg Drive) , our arm will try to create the velocity and will take on most of the stress.

 

Kibler and Chandler calculated that a 20% decrease in kinetic energy delivered from (back leg drive) to the hip and trunk to the arm requires a 34% increase in the rotational velocity of the shoulder to impart the same amount of force to the hand.

 

The first source of energy and the most important is the "Leg Drive". When we drive away from the pitching mound using our legs instead of just falling forward we create energy that will transfer into what is called separation. This "Separation" is the hips internally rotating while the upper body stays closed to home plate. While this happens normally....we can increase this "Elastic Energy" by driving with our legs away from the rubber and transferring this energy to "Linear and Rotational POWER" (POWER=STRENGTH X SPEED) that transfers directly to arm speed. With this leg drive you will create more Kinetic energy that will transfer through the kinetic chain and create more arm speed with less stress on the arm that equates to more velocity.
